The quality of mystery and internal identity has always been important to my work. Whether I decide to reference artwork, architecture, or history, I always find a way to connect it back to internal states of being that I have experienced or imagine in others.
I developed my initial perspective as an artist through the medium of photography, and later found design through experimenting with sewing. Surrealism and its themes of exploring the internal psyche has consistently been at the core of my work. I have always been interested in imbuing the qualities of duality, subtlety, mystery, and sophistication in my designs.
I hope to contribute a philosophy of dressing that centers the importance of clothes that make the wearer feel cool, interesting, and sophisticated. My clothes should make women, as well as people with other gender identities, feel that they can dress in a way that expresses their chosen identity, without the expectation that their clothes must make them attractive to others.
